Our Beliefs

The following list highlights the essentials of our beliefs. For a more detailed assessment of our doctrine, see the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.

We believe that:

  • The Bible is the inspired Word of God.
  • God is Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  • God the Father is the creator and sustainer of all life.
  • Jesus Christ is the uncreated, fully human, fully God, Son of God.
  • The Holy Spirit is fully God and fully Spirit who continues the work of Christ in His physical absence and who is the giver of new life.
  • All people sin and have a choice to go to heaven or hell.
  • The only way to enter heaven is by trusting in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sin.
  • The abundant life is experienced when one denies his/her life of sin and chooses to be in an ongoing relationship with God.
  • God ordained marriage to be between one man and one woman.

Our Philosophy

We believe the church exists to worship the Lord Jesus Christ and to extend Christ’s love to the world in fulfillment of the Great Commission. (Matthew 28:19-20). Fulfillment of these twin purposes begins with a simplified approach to ministry that emphasizes expository preaching; devotion to prayer; and intentional discipleship. In short, we believe the faithful exposition of God’s Word combined with the power of prayer fuel the growth of God’s Church through the making of disciples of Christ.

Our corporate worship services are marked by the faithful exposition of God’s Word, prayer, and congregational singing. We sing a blend of traditional and modern hymns with the overarching goal of encouraging everyone to sing their love and devotion to Jesus Christ. The ultimate purpose of our worship service is to lead people to worship Jesus Christ and to follow him with increasing passion and conviction.
